Maximalist Living Room, September 2024
Client: Clare Williams
Location: Stafford
Brief: A maximalist living room which works with the lack of natural light due to north-facing postion.Â
Pre-design we were working with a problematic space due to shape, door position and the fact it is north facing with limited light due to trees. In the initial appointment we were able to quickly establish the client wanted a cosy room to spend time in the evenings in whilst still being a functional workspace in the day time.
Firstly we switched the layout around and moved the living area to the back of the room to create a snug, perfect for cosy evenings in front of the TV.
We moved the desk to the bay window to make the best use of the natural light and encourage focus and natural motivation for working from home.Â
The concept was put together quite easily once we established the client loves maximalism! We sourcedand perfectly clashed the prints and textures you see in these images…something Shag Interior are experts in!
Gentleman's Living Quarters, Stafford, August 2024
Client: Ollie Pemberton
Location: Stafford
Brief: ‘Cosy but Tough’. A living room which mixed masculine colours and decor with softer furnishings and a plethora of texture.
This is the first of a few rooms we have taken on at this property and it was completely white with a grey media wall pre-design. The client wasn’t sure what he wanted so we presented some options at the initial appointment and we settled on a mix of a few styles. The aim was to create a cosy space that had the echoes of a gentleman’s smoking room throughout the finishes. Colour drenching the room in a beautiful green and adding panneling helped to channel the smoking room vibe whilst the softer textures and custom made curtains gave lighter elements to the darker colours.Â
The Jolly Roger Barbershop, June 2024
Client: Brad ‘The Captain’ Newlands
Location: Stafford
The brief: “Same but different. Pirate themed.”
The main changes here were taking the colour scheme from beige to this gorgeous bronze-green. This colour really brings out the red in the leather on the chair, couch and sink area.Â
We re-upholstered the sink area with new leather as the previous had been worn away. We also added brass beading and corner plates.Â
The artwork was rearranged to fit the space better than it did before and we added some finishing touches – fragrance, string lighting and a shelf. We also created a product display eye-level with waiting clients which the owner did not have previously.
Specialist Paint Services: Limewash
Specialist paint work using Bauwerk Limewash Paint.
Location: Wolverhampton
The client recently renovated this property and wanted the entire ground floor, stairs and landing doing in limewash! I also painted the doorframes black to contrast the limewash and compliment the doors using Zinsser paint.
